St. Norbert Tops Women's Tennis, 8-1

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 non-conference match to future NACC opponent St. Norbert on Saturday afternoon at Four Seasons Tennis Club.

• Final Score: St. Norbert 8, Wisconsin Lutheran 1
• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (2-7), St. Norbert (1-3)
• Location: Four Seasons Tennis Club, Green Bay, Wis.

• The Green Knights took the first two doubles matches from the Warriors by scores of 8-6 and 8-4. WLC's No. 3 duo of freshmen Gabrielle Medema (Appleton, Wis.) and Alex Sturm (Hartland, Wis.) improved their mark to 4-0 on the season following a 9-7 (7-4) win over SNC's Alexandra Bennett and Hannah Starr.
• St. Norbert was victorious in all six singles flights over Wisconsin Lutheran, winning four of them in straight sets. Freshmen Jena Smith (Lake Mills, Wis.) and Sky Pope (Macon, Ga.) each suffered three-set setbacks at No. 4 and No. 6 singles for the Green and White. Smith was defeated 6-0, 3-6, 11-9, and Pope was knocked off 5-7, 6-2, 10-7. 

• The Green Knights' Lauren Paulson was a 6-1, 7-6 (7-2) winner at No. 1 singles, and partnered with Hannah Keller for an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles.

• The Warriors will next travel to Dubuque (1-9) on Saturday for an 11 a.m. non-conference matchup with the Spartans.
