Box Score FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Despite out-shooting Marian 20-17 overall and 9-8 in shots on goal, the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's soccer team was shutout in its first match of the season on Wednesday, falling to NACC foe Marian 2-0 at Smith Field.

- The Sabres struck first in the 12th minute on their first shot on target when Chase Hayden scored from the top of the box into the top right corner off a pass from Giuliani Corazzina.
- The Warriors put three shots on frame in the first half, all from junior Jason Cano (Delavan, Wis.), but could not find the back of the net as Marian led 1-0 at halftime.
- WLC put three shots on frame within a span of three minutes in the second half from freshman Jerry Jacinto (Kenosha, Wis.), sophomore Joseph Raasch (Germantown, Wis.), and junior Aedon Meurer (Waukesha, Wis.), but was held scoreless.
- Corazzina gave MU a 2-0 lead in the 80th minute when his high shot bounced in off the WLC keeper's hands.
- Wisconsin Lutheran had three more chances over the final 11 minutes but was kept off the scoreboard and handed its first loss of the season.
- Cano and freshman Tony Bedolla (Joliet, Ill.) led the Warriors with six and four shots, respectively. WLC finished the match with 20 total shots, including nine on frame.
- Wisconsin Lutheran totaled 10 corner kicks, compared to just three for the Sabres.
