Warriors Edge Raiders, 5-4, For NACC Dual Win

GLENDALE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team battled back from a doubles deficit to win four singles matches for a 5-4 NACC win over MSOE on Sunday at Elite Sports Club-North Shor. The win was the Warriors' first over the Raiders since the 2014 season.

• The Raiders took two of the three doubles flights to begin the match. The Warriors picked up a win at No. 3 doubles behind the team of freshmen Alex Sturm (Hartland, Wis.) and Gabrielle Medema (Appleton, Wis.) by the score of 8-6. The duo improved to 9-1 on the season with the victory.
• In singles play, freshman Kaytlyn Hartfield (New Holstein, Wis.) won at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-2, and Medema won at the No. 2 spot, 6-3, 6-2.
• The Warriors got two more wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles to clinch the victory. Freshman Jena Smith (Lake Mills, Wis.) won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 4 and freshman Izzy Hawley (Allen Park, Mich.) won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.

• Cameron Larson and Hannah Marron won 8-6 at No. 1 doubles for the Raiders. Katie Clements earned a win at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-0.

• The Warriors will next host UW-Stevens Point (6-3) on Tuesday at McKinley Park Tennis Courts in Milwaukee for a non-conference dual.
