Big Plays Propel Muskies Past Warriors

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College football team suffered a 62-14 loss to the Lakeland Muskies on Saturday afternoon in its final NACC regular season game at Raabe Stadium. The visiting Muskies scored five touchdowns from at least 45 yards away in the game.

• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (1-2, 1-2 NACC), Lakeland (3-0, 3-0 NACC)

• The Muskies scored three first-quarter touchdowns to take a 21-0 lead over the Warriors after one quarter. Lakeland's first two scores came on touchdown passes of 50 and 56 yards.
• LU scored a pair of second-quarter touchdowns just 1:22 apart before WLC found the end zone for the first time.
• Freshman Mike DuPree (Milwaukee, Wis.) caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from sophomore Nick Yockey (Gig Harbor, Wash.) to cap a six-play, 79-yard scoring drive with 6:21 left before halftime.
• The Muskies added a 54-yard interception return and a 45-yard touchdown pass before halftime for a 48-7 lead after the first half.
• Wisconsin Lutheran accounted for the only touchdown of the third quarter when freshman Matt Davis (Lake Mills, Wis.) threw his first collegiate touchdown pass to freshman Trevion Green (Miami, Fla.) from 11 yards away. The score capped a seven-play, 49-yard drive.
• Lakeland found the end zone twice in the fourth quarter on a three-yard run and 21-yard pass for the final points of the contest.

• Yockey completed 20 of 37 passes for 157 yards and a touchdown for the Warriors. Green led the receivers with nine catches for 66 yards and a score. DuPree and sophomore Jordan Jewell (Hartford, Wis.) each caught five passes.
• WLC was limited to 180 yards of offense and was 1-of-15 on third downs.
• Senior Mykael Ignaszak (Cudahy, Wis.) tied for a game-high with nine tackles, including two of Wisconsin Lutheran's four sacks in the game.
• Freshman Kyle Kubacki (St. Francis, Wis.) added eight tackles.

• Charl'Tez Nunnery threw for 336 yards and four touchdowns and also rushed for 102 yards and a score. The Muskies ran 92 plays and totaled 594 yards of offense.
• Andrew Cardiel tied for a game-high with nine tackles to lead Lakeland's defense, which scored two defensive touchdowns.

• The Warriors travel to Aurora (3-0, 3-0 NACC) next Saturday for a NACC Playoff Bracket Semifinal game against the Spartans. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. Live coverage links will be available at WLCSports.com.
