(WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's soccer team overcame a 1-0 first-half deficit by netting the equalizer in the 71st minute, but visiting Lawrence scored the eventual game-winning goal seven minutes later to defeat the Warriors 2-1 on Friday night at Warriors Soccer Field.

- The Warriors (22') and Vikings (31') each recorded a shot on goal through three-quarters of the opening half.
- Lawrence struck first for a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute when Sean McLaughlin's shot was mishandled and found its way into the back of the net. The score stood 1-0 in favor of LU at halftime.
- Freshman goalkeeper Bryce Beckley (Waterford, Wis.) stopped the first four shots he faced in the second half to keep the contest at a one-goal margin.
- WLC knotted the match at 1-1 in the 71st minute after a foul inside the box led to a successful penalty kick conversion from senior Jason Cano (Delavan, Wis.). It was his team-leading fifth goal of the season.
- Seven minutes later, the Vikings Konstantinos Fardellas split two Warriors defenders and gave the hosts the lead for good with 12 minutes remaining.
- Wisconsin Lutheran's last shot on target came from senior Seth Boese (Greenfield, Wis.) in the 88th minute, but was saved by the Lawrence keeper.
