Blue Devils Edge WLC In Five Sets

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's volleyball team held a two sets to one lead over UW-Stout on Friday, but the Blue Devils came back to take the final two sets in a 3-2 defeat of the Warriors at the Polito's Classic hosted by UW-Oshkosh.

• Location: Kolf Sports Center, Oshkosh, Wis.

• The Warriors dropped the opening set to the Blue Devils 25-22 before taking sets two and three by identical 25-22 scores. WLC hit a team-high .278 in the third set with 17 kills.
• UW-Stout evened the match with a 25-18 win in set four, before clinching the contest in the fifth set at 15-7. The Blue Devils hit a match-best .318 in the final set.
• Junior Jenna Charron (Appleton, Wis.) led Wisconsin Lutheran with 12 kills and a .357 attacking percentage. Senior Carly Heuer (Germantown, Wis.) and freshmen Grace Frey (South Milwaukee, Wis.) and Amahra Matthai (Plover, Wis.) chipped with nine kills each.
• Junior Emily Sarles (Lombard, Ill.) and freshman Karah Valerio (Pewaukee, Wis.) distributed 16 kills apiece. Junior Ally Goba (Mukwonago, Wis.) registered a team-high 18 digs.
• UW-Stout's Lexie Nelson posted a triple-double of 13 kills, 34 assists, and 10 digs.
