Warriors Sweep St. Norbert To Cap Perfect Weekend

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team capped off its perfect weekend with a 9-0 sweep over NACC newcomer St. Norbert on Sunday at the Princeton Club. The win marked the Warriors' third sweep of the weekend and their first win over the Green Knights since the 2013 season.

• The Warriors took all three doubles matches from the Green Knights to start play on Sunday.
• Sophomores Jena Smith (Lake Mills, Wis.) and Kaytlyn Hartfield (New Holstein, Wis.) picked up an 8-7 (7-4) win at No. 1 for their team-leading fifth victory of the year.
• Sophomore Katelynn Haskell (Santa Maria, Calif.) and senior Amanda Wietrzny (Pewaukee, Wis.) posted an 8-1 victory at No. 2.
• Sophomore Izzy Hawley (Allen Park, Mich.) and freshman Ali Schmidt (Germantown, Wis.) closed out the doubles competition with an 8-0 triumph. 
• WLC also won all six singles flights in straight sets. Smith (6-3, 6-2), Haskell (6-1, 6-1), Hartfield (6-4, 6-4), Hawley (6-1, 6-0), Schmidt (6-2, 6-1), and sophomore Gabrielle Medema (Appleton, Wis.) (6-1, 6-0) each recorded wins at the No. 1 through the No. 6 singles spots, respectively.
• Schmidt moved her record to a perfect 9-0 overall in singles action with her win.

• The Warriors play a non-conference match on Wednesday at Carroll (2-3). First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in Waukesha.
