MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's volleyball team made its long-awaited home debut on Tuesday night against NACC newcomer St. Norbert. The Warriors picked up their second sweep in as many conference matches by defeating the Green Knights 3-0 in front of a raucous crowd inside the Recreation Complex.

  • Location: Recreation Complex, Milwaukee, Wis.

  • The Warriors jumped out to a 6-0 lead over the Green Knights in the opening set. St. Norbert tied the set at 12-12, but WLC answered with six straight points for an 18-12 lead. The visitors closed to within three at 21-18, but Wisconsin Lutheran came out ahead with a 25-21 set win.
  • SNC opened up a 4-0 lead in the second set, but the Green and White answered right back with six points. The Green Knights took an 11-9 lead, but another 8-2 scoring run from the Warriors gave the hosts a lead they would never relinquish. WLC won the second set 25-21.

  • Defensively, junior Ally Goba (Mukwonago, Wis.) led all players with 21 digs. Charron added 11 digs for a double-double, as did freshman Kylee Gnabasik (Jefferson, Wis.) along with three service aces.

  • "What a great match from our Warriors. We did a great job executing from start to finish, especially with our serve and pass game. That in turn made our job on defense easier and allowed us to distribute the ball well, and our hitters terminated with authority. We played confidently with an awesome home crowd behind us. It was great to be back at home and get a sweep." - Head Coach Jenilee Voss

  • The Warriors play their second straight home match on Friday when they host NAIA non-conference opponent Cardinal Stritch (7-2) at 6 p.m. Live coverage links will be available for the match at WLCSports.com.
