WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College won its third straight NACC match on Sunday, cruising to an 8-1 win over Concordia Chicago at Hart Park.
The Warriors (5-5, 4-2 NACC), who won their 11th straight match over the Cougars (1-11, 0-6 NACC), picked up three points in doubles play.Â
Juniors
Katelynn Haskell (Santa Maria, Calif.) and
Jena Smith (Lake Mills, Wis.) won 8-2 at No. 1 over Heidi Hesse and Alexa Hoover. At No. 2, juniors
Izzy Hawley (Allen Park, Mich.) and
Sky Pope (Macon, Ga.) doubled up Ali Wingood and Jessica Parker 8-4. Freshman
Mary Meghrian (Peoria, Ill.) and sophomore
Ali Schmidt (Germantown, Wis.) were 8-2 winners at No. 3 over Kamila Giza and Madison Perkins.
WLC collected wins at five of the six singles positions. Smith defeated Wingood 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2, Hawley was a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Giza at No. 3, Schmidt secured a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Parker at No. 4, Pope picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5 over Hoover, and Meghrian swept Perkins 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.Â
Wisconsin Lutheran remains home for two matches next week, starting Thursday with a 4 p.m. NACC match against Lakeland (3-5, 2-4 NACC) at Hart Park.Â
