MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College closed out its 2022 season on Saturday with a pair of 3-0 defeats against top-25 opponents Coe and UW-Oshkosh at the Warrior Invitational inside the Time of Grace Center.
The Warriors (11-12) were swept by the No. 20 Kohawks (23-5) by scores of 25-19, 25-21, 25-8. WLC hit .054 in its opening match with 28 kills, 23 errors, and 92 attempts.
Senior
Jenna Charron (Appleton, Wis.) led Wisconsin Lutheran with nine kills and two service aces, while freshman
Kayla Wigley (Milwaukee, Wis.) added seven kills. Senior
Emily Sarles (Lombard, Ill.) tallied 14 assists and a pair of service aces. Sophomore
Kylee Gnabasik (Jefferson, Wis.) collected a team-high nine digs.
Madi Parson and Kate Tidman totaled seven and six kills, respectively, for Coe, which hit .278 on 30 kills, 10 errors, and 72 attempts.Â
The No. 12 Titans (30-4) topped the Warriors in three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-9, 25-23 in the nightcap. WLC hit .092 with 30 kills, against 20 errors, on 109 attempts. Charron chipped in nine kills and seven digs for Wisconsin Lutheran, while
Kayla Wigley collected six kills and 16 digs. Sarles recorded a team-high 13 assists. Gnabasik served up five aces to go along with seven digs and senior
Rebecca Chavez (Chicago, Ill.) had four blocks.
Carissa Sundholm and Riley Kindt led UW-Oshkosh with 14 and 10 kills apiece. Izzy Coon collected a double-double with 14 assists and 14 digs. UWO hit .250 on the 39 kills, 12 errors, and 108 attempts.
Charron was one of seven players chosen to the All-Tournament Team.
