WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) -Â Wisconsin Lutheran College and St. Norbert combined for the fewest points scored in a game in program history, but a second-quarter Green Knights touchdown proved to be the difference in a 7-0 defeat of the Warriors on Saturday at Raabe Stadium.
The Warriors (1-4, 1-2 NACC), who forced the Green Knights (4-1, 3-0 NACC) to punt on their first three possessions of the game, moved the ball into SNC territory on four straight drives, but couldn't manage any points.
St. Norbert took a 7-0 lead midway through the second quarter on a two-yard John Trinh touchdown run that capped a seven-play, 77-yard drive, the longest of the game for either team.
WLC was unable to capitalize on a missed field goal and fumble late in the second quarter, as the scored remained 7-0 at halftime.
Wisconsin Lutheran allowed a combined 16 yards on the Green Knights' first three possession of the second half, but couldn't turn those stops into points as SNC intercepted a pair of passes deep in their own territory in the third quarter.
The Warriors had one last chance for a game-winning drive after sophomore
Savon Goodwin (New Orleans, La.) blocked a 30-yard field goal with 1:47 left in the fourth quarter. WLC drove down to the SNC 46-yard line but an interception sealed the game with 0:51 seconds remaining.
Senior
Ty Castillo (San Antonio, Texas) led Wisconsin Lutheran's defense with a game-high 10 tackles. Goodwin added nine stops.Â
Senior
Justin Parbs (Milwaukee, Wis.) rushed 25 times for 116 yards and junior
Trevion Green (Miami, Fla.) caught five passes for 97 yards.
Delton Zuleger had 17 carries for 89 yards and Joe Jung tallied nine tackles and intercepted two passes for St. Norbert.
The Warriors are back at Raabe Stadium next Saturday for a 6 p.m. kickoff against Rockford (1-5, 0-4 NACC). Live coverage links will be available for the NACC game at WLCSports.com.
