LISLE, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College held a touchdown lead late in the third quarter, but Benedictine scored the game's final three touchdowns for a 49-35 defeat of the Warriors on Saturday in the final game of the season at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine Sports Complex.
The Eagles (7-3, 5-3 NACC) capitalized on the first turnover of the game when they intercepted a pass on the Warriors' (4-6, 4-4 NACC) opening drive and turned that into seven points after finishing off a five-play, 33-yard drive. Trevion Green (Miami, Fla.) for a three-yard score. It would be its first of four straight scoring drives for Wisconsin Lutheran.
The Warriors forced a turnover of their own on the next drive and cashed that into seven points after Davis found senior
Jordan Jewell (Hartford, Wis.) from four yards away to cap a 10-play, 58-yard drive.
WLC answered a seven-play scoring drive from BenU which knotted the score at 14-14 with an eight-play drive that ended with a 13-yard touchdown run by senior
Justin Parbs (Milwaukee, Wis.).
The back-and-forth first half continued as Benedictine completed an eight-play, 58-yard scoring drive with a 15-yard touchdown pass to tie the score again at 21-21 with just 1:15 left in the half.
Wisconsin Lutheran took advantage of three consecutive personal foul penalties on its final drive of the half and jumped back ahead 28-21 when Davis found Green from seven yards away for their second touchdown connection of the game.
The Eagles intercepted a pass in the end zone on the Warriors' first drive on the second half and proceeded to drive 80 yards to even the score at 28-28 after a 28-yard touchdown pass.
Parbs put WLC back in front with 5:39 left in the third quarter with his second rushing touchdown of the game, a 16-yard scamper that sealed a seven-play, 73-yard drive for a 35-28 lead.
BenUÂ knotted the score for the fifth time in the game on its final drive of the third quarter with a two-yard touchdown run.
Wisconsin Lutheran was forced to punt on its first two drives in the fourth quarter and Benedictine responded with touchdowns on both possessions to take a two-touchdown lead. The Warriors drove the ball deep into Eagles territory on their final drive, but turned the ball over on downs with just over two minutes left.
Parbs posted his sixth straight 100-yard rushing game and seventh of the season with his 121-yard performance on the ground and two scores. He finished the season with 1,112 rushing yards, the second-most in the NACC. Davis completed 26 of 42 passing attempts for 261 yards and three touchdowns. Green led the receiving corps with four catches for 74 yards and two TDs. Freshman

Ty Castillo (San Antonio, Texas) tied a game-high with 15 tackles to finish the season second in the NACCÂ with 104 tackles, while freshman

Tyler Jarnagin threw for 327 yards and five touchdowns for the Eagles, who also saw Dylan Sigel rush for 108 yards and Sami Ayash catch eight passes for 181 yards.
Wisconsin Lutheran wraps up its 2022 season 4-6 overall and 4-4 in the NACC. The four conference victories are the most since 2016.
