WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College fell to Carroll 54-7 on Saturday at Raabe Stadium in the home opener and inaugural Glazers Bowl presented by Kwik Trip.
The Warriors (0-2) attempted to answer the Pioneers' opening scoring drive, but a 10-play, 68-yard drive stalled following a missed 29-yard field goal try. Carroll increased its lead to 14-0 after the first quarter, but WLC cut the deficit in half on an 18-yard touchdown run from senior
Justin Parbs (Milwaukee, Wis.) that capped a nine-play, 84-yard drive.
CU answered the touchdown drive with three straight scoring drives of its own to take a 35-7 halftime lead. The visitors didn't allow Wisconsin Lutheran to move the ball across midfield in the second half, as they tacked on two touchdowns in the third quarter and another in the fourth for the final margin.
Parbs finished with 53 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown, and senior
Jordan Jewell (Hartford, Wis.) caught five passes for 51 yards.Â
Senior
Ty Castillo (San Antonio, Texas) and junior
Kyle Kubacki (St. Francis, Wis.) had eight tackles each for the Warriors on defense.
Quarterback Josh Raby completed 21 of 27 passing attempts for 264 yards and five touchdowns for the Pioneers (1-0), who racked up 512 yards to total offense.
WLC is back at Raabe Stadium next Saturday for Homecoming when it hosts Lakeland (0-2, 0-0 NACC) for another 6 p.m. kickoff. Live coverage links will be available for the game at WLCSports.com.
