WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's tennis team opened its 2022-2023 season on Friday afternoon with a non-conference dual against St. Ambrose. The Fighting Bees topped the Warriors 7-2 at Hart Park.
St. Ambrose took the first two doubles matches from the Warriors by scores of 8-1 and 8-2. WLC's No. 3 doubles team of junior
Bryce Halvorsen (Fredonia, Wis.) and freshman
Zadic Torline (Shawnee, Kan.) earned the first win of the match by virtue of an 8-6 victory.
SAU won the first four singles flights over Wisconsin Lutheran in straight sets. Halvorsen notched his second victory of the day at No. 5 singles following a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Junior
Matt Bass (Village of Lakewood, Ill.) dropped a tough three-set decision at No. 6 singles by a score of 6-2, 1-6, 10-7.
The Warriors (0-1) will next compete in the Hope Fall Invitational on September 16-17 in Holland, Michigan.
