MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College collected its second consecutive sweep and third of the season with a 3-0 win over Alverno on Friday at the Time of Grace Center.
The Warriors (5-5, 2-1 NACC) swept the Inferno (4-9, 0-3 NACC) by scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-17. The win marked WLC's 27th straight over Alverno dating back to its first meeting in 2000.
Wisconsin Lutheran, which hit a season-high .301 behind 43 kills against 15 errors on 93 attempts, posted double-digit kills in all three sets, including a match-high 16 in set two.
Senior
Jenna Charron (Appleton, Wis.) led the Warriors with 11 kills, while freshman
Kayla Wigley (Milwaukee, Wis.) added 10. Sophomore
Emma Incaprero (Mauston, Wis.) and senior
Emily Sarles (Lombard, Ill.) dished out 18 and 12 assists, respectively. Sophomore
Kylee Gnabasik (Jefferson, Wis.) served up four of the team's 16 service aces.
Defensively, senior
Rebecca Chavez (Chicago, Ill.) had five total blocks and freshman
Emily Marohn (Reedsville, Wis.) collected seven digs.
Rolin West had 12 kills and seven digs to lead the Inferno, who hit .123 on 20 kills, 12 errors, and 65 attempts.
