Wheaton Spoils Warriors' Home Opener

Thunder erase 2-0 deficit

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College got off to a fast start on Tuesday by taking the first two sets from non-conference opponent Wheaton, but the visiting Thunder stormed back to win three in a row and spoil the home opener for the Warriors inside the Time of Grace Center.

WLC (0-4) fell to the Thunder (2-2) by scores of 20-25, 18-25, 25-23, 25-15, 15-8.

Wisconsin Lutheran hit .128 for the match, recording 45 kills and 25 errors on 156 attempts. Senior Jenna Charron (Appleton, Wis.) collected her first double-double on the young season with 12 kills and 18 digs, both team highs. Sophomore Amahra Matthai (Plover, Wis.) added nine kills on 18 attacks for a .500 hitting percentage. Sophomore Emma Incaprero (Mauston, Wis.) and senior Emily Sarles (Lombard, Ill.) dished out 19 and 10 assists, respectively.

Sophomore Kylee Gnabasik (Jefferson, Wis.) finished with 14 digs and a match-high five service aces.

Wheaton hit .121 for the match, with 43 kills against 26 errors in 140 attempts. Caroline Capps led the Thunder with 10 kills.
