LAKE FOREST, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College wrapped up its 2023 season on Saturday by falling in five sets, 3-2, to Lake Forest in non-conference action at the Sports Center.
The Warriors (9-17), who dropped their second five-set match of the season, fell to the Foresters (17-7) by scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-6. WLC hit .075 with 47 kills, 34 errors, and 173 attempts.Â
Freshman
Margie Stevens (Oneida, Wis.) led WLC with 10 kills, while junior
Amahra Matthai (Plover, Wis.) and sophomore Sophia Biesterfeld (Steger, Ill.) added eight kills apiece, a career-high for Biesterfeld. Juniors
Emma Incaprero (Mauston, Wis.) and
Karah Valerio (Pewaukee, Wis.) distributed 19 and 14 assists, respectively. Incaprero and freshman
Shannon Rusch (Edgerton, Wis.) served up two aces each.
Senior
Kylee Gnabasik (Jefferson, Wis.) paced three players in double-digit digs with 17. Rusch finished with 13 digs, and senior
Courtney Andras (Oxford, Mich.) added 10. Matthai totaled three blocks to lead Wisconsin Lutheran, while Stevens and sophomore
Hannah Vriezen (Marion, Iowa) tallied two apiece.
