Leisemann, Ten Pas Selected First Team All-NACC

Warriors land two on First Team for 10th straight year

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College's Sam Leisemann (Fall River, Wis.) and Ella Ten Pas (Oostburg, Wis.) have been named First Team All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), it was announced on Wednesday as the postseason awards for the 2022-2023 women's basketball season were released.

This marks the 10th straight season that two Warriors were selected First Team All-NACC. In addition, Meggie Scott (Yorkville, Ill.) was named NACC Honorable Mention.

Leisemann, who was named to the 10-member First Team for the third time in her career, led WLC with 12.0 points and tied for the team lead with 8.1 rebounds per game. One of two players to start all 27 games, the junior forward also posted team highs for field goals made (127), field goal attempts (234), and blocked shots (29). She was second in minutes played (25.9 per game), field goal percentage (54.3), free throws made (67), free throw attempts (95), assists (53), and steals (35). Leisemann reached double-figure scoring in 21 games and tallied four double-doubles. She matched a career high with 21 points and pulled down a career-high 19 rebounds in Wisconsin Lutheran's 64-51 NACC Tournament semifinal win over Concordia Wisconsin on Feb. 23.

Ten Pas, who started 24 of 25 games played, averaged 10.6 points and tied for the team lead with 8.1 rebounds per game. The sophomore forward led the Warriors in field goal percentage (54.6), free throws made (75), and free throw attempts (106). She was also second on the team in field goals made (95), field goal attempts (174), and blocked shots (13). Ten Pas surpassed double-digit scoring in 10 games and had at least 10 rebounds in seven contests. The NACC Student-Athlete of the Week on Jan. 24 posted career highs of 24 points and 16 rebounds on Jan. 21 in a 79-40 win at Concordia Chicago.

Scott, who also started all 27 games, averaged 6.6 points and 3.7 assists per game. The junior guard led WLC in minutes played (27.6 per game), assists (101), and steals (45). She also was second in three-pointers made (26). Scott scored a career-high 17 points on Jan. 25 in a 77-33 win over Alverno, and dished out a career-high 10 assists on Feb. 11 in a 94-38 win over Illinois Tech.

Wisconsin Lutheran wrapped up its 2022-2023 season 19-8 overall and 15-3 in the NACC. The Warriors reached the NACC Tournament championship game for the 13th time in 17 straight conference tournament appearances.
