Box Score HANOVER PARK, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College collected its first win of the spring season on Saturday after defeating North Park 6-3 in non-conference action at Centre Court Athletic Club.
The Warriors (8-8) took a 2-1 lead over the Vikings (6-6) after the completion of doubles play. Juniors
Izzy Hawley (Allen Park, Mich.) and
Sky Pope (Macon, Ga.) shutout their opponents at No. 2 doubles, 8-0. Sophomores
Ali Schmidt (Germantown, Wis.) and
Haley Olson (Appleton, Wis.) partnered for an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.Â
After dropping matches at the first two singles positions, WLC won the final four flights over NPU. Hawley (6-0, 6-0), Schmidt (6-0, 6-3), Pope (6-4, 6-2), and freshman
Mary Meghrian (Peoria, Ill.) (6-4, 6-1) were winners at No. 3 through No. 6 singles.
Wisconsin Lutheran will next host Wartburg (11-9) on Friday, April 7 at Pleasant Valley Tennis and Fitness Club in Jackson.
