ELMHURST, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College dropped a 10-3 non-conference road contest to Elmhurst on Wednesday at Butterfield Park.
The Bluejays (14-16) scored four first-inning runs on just two hits and an error to take an early lead.Â
The first three Warriors batters reached base in the third inning, including a RBI single from freshman
Eli Michaelis (Wauwatosa, Wis.). Senior
Ryan Dominick (Bartlett, Ill.) and junior
Foster Engelhardt (North Richland Hills, Texas) also added two-out RBI singles later in the frame for a 4-3 deficit.
WLC stranded a pair of runners on base in both the fourth and fifth inning and the score remained 4-3 until the bottom of the seventh.Â
EU scored two seventh-inning runs without a hit, as the first five batters reached via three walks and two hit by pitch. Elmhurst added four unearned runs in the eighth inning for the final 10-3 margin.

Oliver Lopeztello (Chicago, Ill.) tallied two hits each for Wisconsin Lutheran, while three other players posted a hit each. Sophomores
Jaime Miner (Erie, Ill.) and
Will Tucholski (Geneva, Ill.) combined for five scoreless relief innings on the mound.
