WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College dropped its home opener to Dubuque 3-1 on Friday in the first match of the WLC Quadrangular at the Time of Grace Center.
The Warriors (1-4) fell to the Spartans (5-1) by scores of 25-20, 25-19, 23-25, 25-10. WLC held a 15-7 lead in the second set, but UD stormed back to win the set by six points.
Wisconsin Lutheran, which hit .061 for the match, finished with 41 kills, 32 errors, and 148 attempts. Dubuque concluded the contest hitting .222 with 45 kills, 15 errors, and 135 attempts.
Sophomore
Kayla Wigley (Milwaukee, Wis.) led the Warriors with nine kills, along with a career-best six service aces. Sophomore
Bailey Halliburton (Germantown, Wis.) added eight kills. JuniorÂ
Karah Valerio (Pewaukee, Wis.) matched a season high with 18 assists, and fellow junior
Emma Incaprero (Mauston, Wis.) tallied a season-high 15 assists, 11 digs, and four service aces.
Junior
Kylee Gnabasik (Jefferson, Wis.) recorded a career and match-best 24 digs, while Wigley chipped in with a season-high 15.
