MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College was handed its first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference loss of the season after suffering a 3-2 heartbreaking loss to MSOE on Friday at Kern Center. Senior
Kylee Gnabasik (Jefferson, Wis.) became the program's career service aces leader in the first set and sits atop the record books with 167 for her career.
The Warriors (7-8, 2-1 NACC), who held a 10-4 lead in the fifth decisive set, fell in five sets to the Raiders by scores of 25-16, 24-26, 28-26, 23-25, 15-13. WLC recorded a season-high 61 kills in its first five-set contest of the season, but was held to a .098 attacking percentage on 40 errors and 215 attempts.
Junior
Lydia Biggin (Burlington, Wis.) led Wisconsin Lutheran with a season-high 16 kills. Junior
Kayla Wigley (Milwaukee, Wis.), who was one of three players to post a double-double, added 14 kills and 19 digs, both season highs. Freshman
Hannah Rood (Burnsville, Minn.) registered her first career double-double with 26 assists and 13 digs, also season highs. Senior
Emma Incaprero (Mauston, Wis.) distributed 18 assists.Â
Gnabasik, whose first set ace put her atop the career record book with 164, collected a season-high 27 digs along with a career-high 11 assists. Both Gnabasik and Wigley served up four service aces. Junior
Bailey Halliburton (Germantown, Wis.) tallied a career-best eight total blocks, while sophomore
Shannon Rusch (Edgerton, Wis.) finished with 10 digs.Â
Emma Schattschneider had a match-high 25 kills and 29 digs for MSOE (9-10, 1-2 NACC).
