Warriors Ousted From NACC Tournament By Top-Seeded Illinois Tech

Best winning percentage for WLC since 2012

CHICAGO, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Eighth-seeded Wisconsin Lutheran College saw its 2024 season come to an end on Saturday, falling to top-seeded Illinois Tech 9-0 in a Northern Atheltics Collegiate Conference Tournament Quarterfinal match at Stuart Field.

The Warriors (7-7-4), who made their first NACC Tournament appearance in the 19-year history of the conference, finished the season with their best winning percentage since 2012.

The Scarlet Hawks (16-2-2) netted four goals in the first half, opening with their first score in the 14th minute, followed by two in the 29th minute, and capping off the opening half with a 41st-minute goal. IIT added five tallies to its total in the second half, finding the back of the net in the 51st, 67th, 68th, 78th, and 89th minute. 

WLC finished with two shots in the contest, coming in the second half from senior Adlin Sanchez Cordero (Milwaukee, Wis.) and freshman Morgan Bluhm (New Berlin, Wis.). Sophomore Kallista Street (Kenosha, Wis.) made a season-high nine saves.

Caitie Chismarich collected seven shots and Gabriella Baltes scored twice for Illinois Tech, which advances to host fifth-seeded St. Norbert on Tuesday in a NACC Tournament Semifinal matchup.
