BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College wrapped up its busy weekend at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational with a pair of three-set non-conference defeats to Adrian and Edgewood at the Shirk Center.
The Warriors (0-7) suffered a three-set setback in their opening match to the Bulldogs (6-6) by scores of 25-15, 25-12, 25-19. WLC held a 9-8 lead in a second set that featured six ties and five lead changes before AC went on a 15-1 run.Â

James Biedenbender (La Crosse, Wis.) tallied six kills to lead Wisconsin Lutheran, which totaled 19 kills, 18 errors, and 90 attempts for a .011 hitting percentage. Junior
Jay Thammavongsa (Franklin, Wis.) collected eight of the team's 14 assists. Junior
Trevor Salutric (Lockport, Ill.) and sophomore
Samuel Dudor (Franklin, Wis.) recorded 11 and 10 digs, respectively. The later was Dudor's career high. Sophomore
Drew Wempner (West Allis, Wis.) had three total blocks for the Warriors, who finished with 10 block assists.
Andrew Gawrisch distributed 14 assists and Jacob Rembulat added 13 digs for Adrian, which hit .189 with 33 kills, 16 errors, and 90 attempts.
WLC fell in three sets in its weekend finale to the Eagles (3-6) by scores of 25-11, 25-22, 25-12. Wisconsin Lutheran led 17-16 in a tightly contested second set before EC ran off five in a row to take the lead for good. Freshman
Sean Kane (Tinley Park, Ill.) collected a season-high seven kills for the Warriors, while Thammavongsa tallied 15 assists. Thammavongsa and Salutric tied a team-high with six digs. WLC hit -.013 on 18 kills, 19 errors, and 77 attempts.
Owen Hartjes had a match-high eight kills for Edgewood, which hit .388 on 34 kills, eight errors, and 67 attempts.
