CHICAGO, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Four players scored in double figures and Wisconsin Lutheran College shot over 52 percent from the floor in an 81-36 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference victory over Illinois Tech on Wednesday at Keating Sports Center.
The Warriors (17-4, 12-1 NACC), who won their 12th straight game, topped the 80-point plateau for the second time this season while holding the Scarlet Hawks (4-17, 3-10 NACC) to just 15 second-half points.
Junior
Mack Hogenson (Neenah, Wis.) opened the scoring for WLC with a three on its first possession of the game for a lead it would never relinquish. Leading 9-8 with six minutes left in the first quarter, Wisconsin Lutheran went on a 10-0 scoring run to open up an 11-point lead after a jumper from senior
Meggie Scott (Yorkville, Ill.). The Warriors, who shot 55 percent in the opening period, also netted nine straight points to close the quarter for a 28-10 lead.
WLC answered an IIT basket in the first minute of the second quarter with six straight points to extend its lead to 22 at 34-12 following a layup from junior
Haley Ott (Germantown, Wis.). The two teams traded buckets over the final five-and-a-half minutes of the first half, before Scott sank a three in the closing seconds to maintain the 22-point lead, 43-21, at halftime.
Illinois Tech, which made just one field goal in the third quarter, was held scoreless over the final 6:54. Meanwhile, Wisconsin Lutheran made of 10 its 19 field goal attempts and tallied 17 consecutive points to finish the quarter with a 41-point cushion at 67-26.
The Warriors maintained a lead of at least 41 points throughout the entire final frame thanks to 50 percent shooting. Freshman
Marin Riesen (Watertown, Wis.) and sophomore
Madison Lineback (Marseilles, Ill.) extended the margin to a game-high 47 points on two separate occasions under the four-and-a-half minute mark with layups.

Margie Stevens (Oneida, Wis.) scored a game-high 16 points while grabbing eight rebounds. Senior
Sam Leisemann (Fall River, Wis.) recorded her 11th double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Hogenson finished with 11 points, while Ott added 10 off the bench. Scott dished out a career-high 12 assists. WLC, which outscored the Scarlet Hawks 44-10 in the paint, posted its second-best shooting performance of the season at 52.2 percent (35-for-67).
Grace Goodnough scored a team-high 10 points for IIT, which shot 26 percent (13-for-50) for the game.
