WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College collected its second Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference sweep of the season on Sunday with a 9-0 blanking over Concordia Chicago at Hart Park.
The Warriors (5-9, 3-2 NACC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead over the Cougars (1-8, 1-4 NACC) following three doubles victories. Junior
Aidan Newberg (Manitowoc, Wis.) and senior
Asa White (Farmington, N.M.) blanked Collin Dickey and Nathan Stringer, 8-0, at No. 1. Senior
Bryce Halvorsen (Kewaskum, Wis.) and sophomore
Zadic Torline (Shawnee, Kan.) had little trouble with Kevin Bullens and Reynaldo Leal, 8-1, at No. 2. Sophomore
Connor Heezen (Pulaski, Wis.) and senior
Jon Kannenberg (Butler, Wis.) took care of Joshua Gustafson and Diego Luveshe, 8-3, at No. 3.Â
WLC also rolled through singles play against CUC, winning all six flights in straight sets. Newberg netted a 6-2, 6-1 win over Dickey at No. 1, White was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Stringer at No. 2, Torline triumphed over Leal 6-0, 6-4 at No. 3, Kannenberg collected a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 4 over Loveshe, Halvorsen handled Gustafson 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5, and Heezen helped himself to a 6-0, 6-2 win over Bullens.
Wisconsin Lutheran next hosts MSOE (9-7, 5-1 NACC) on Saturday, April 20 for its final regular season home contest. First serve is set for 12 p.m. at Hart Park in Wauwatosa.
