RIVER FOREST, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College came up short in a pair of Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference games on Saturday against Concordia Chicago at Cougar Field. The Warriors fell to the Cougars 6-2 in game one and 8-6 game two.
Senior starting pitcher
Gabe Knight (Brighton, Mich.) and WLC (8-24, 2-14 NACC) held CUC (15-18, 7-11 NACC) scoreless for the first five innings, as game one stood 0-0 through five-and-a-half innings. Concordia Chicago broke through in the bottom of the sixth with six runs on six hits. WLC didn't go down easily in the top of the seventh as its first three batters reached base. Sophomore
Lucas Oswald (Muskego, Wis.) drove in senior
Foster Engelhardt (North Richland Hills, Texas) with a single and junior
Nolan Hodgins (Caledonia, Wis.) came home a double-play groundout.

Aiden Montgomery (St. Louis, Mo.), and junior
Elijah Shevey (Muskego, Wis.) tallied the three hits each for Wisconsin Lutheran. Oswald and junior
Noah Zaccanti (Geneva, Ill.) each drove in a run.
The Cougars got out to a hot start in game two, scoring six runs in the first and another in the second to take an early 7-0 lead. The Warriors responded with three runs in the top of the third. Montgomery scored sophomore
Tim Frerking (Oconomowoc, Wis.) with a single to center, Montgomery later scored on a double from Engelhardt, and Hodgins followed with a double plating Engelhardt. WLC added three more runs to its total in the fourth to cut its deficit to one. Shevey drove in freshman
Ian Rintelman (Muskego, Wis.) on a grounder to second, Montgomery drove in Frerking with a single to right, and Oswald drew a bases loaded walk that brought home Montgomery. CUC tacked on its eighth run in the fifth. Wisconsin Lutheran loaded the bases in the seventh but was unable to plate the tying run.
Montgomery, Hodgins, and Frerking each had two hits for the Warriors, while Montgomery drove in a pair of runs.
