CHICAGO, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College suffered a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference sweep to Illinois Tech on Saturday at Ed Glancy Field. The Warriors were walked-off by the Scarlet Hawks 4-3 in game one, before falling 10-2 in game two.
IIT (9-12, 5-3 NACC) scored an early run in the bottom of the first off two hits to take an early 1-0 lead. The score stayed that way until the top of the fifth when freshman
Aiden Montgomery (St. Louis, Mo.) tied it up with a solo homerun, the first of his career. Junior
Noah Zaccanti (Geneva, Ill.) added a two-run blast of his own, his first of the season, in the top of the sixth to give WLC (4-17, 0-8 NACC) a 3-1 lead. A solo shot from Illinois Tech cut Wisconsin Lutheran's advantage to one heading to the seventh. The Scarlet Hawks walked it off with a one-out, two-RBI single to take the first game of the doubleheader, 4-3.Â
Montgomery, Zaccanti, sophomore
Tim Frerking (Oconomowoc, Wis.) and juniors
Elijah Shevey (Muskego, Wis.) and
Nolan Hodgins (Caledonia, Wis.) each tallied a hit for the Warriors. Zaccanti drove in two runs and Montgomery drove in the other. Senior

Eli Michaelis (Wauwatosa, Wis.) and
Lucas Oswald (Muskego, Wis.). Illinois Tech responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth. A grand slam in the bottom of the seventh and another run in the bottom of the eighth put the game out of reach for Wisconsin Lutheran as it fell 10-2.
Michaelis led the Warriors with two hits and four other WLC players tallied one hit each. Rintelman recorded two RBI.
