WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College swept its third straight Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match over Marian by a score of 7-0 at Hart Park on Friday.
The Warriors (4-4, 3-3 NACC) swept through doubles play to earn the point over the Sabres (1-5, 1-4 NACC). WLC senior
Ali Schmidt (Germantown, Wis.) and sophomore
Maddy Olson (Onalaska, Wis.) doubled up MU's Kendall Pliner and Hazel Duchemin 6-3 at No. 1. Freshmen
Joelle Smith (Milwaukee, Wis.) and
Amelia Kelley (Appleton, Wis.) collected a 6-1 win over Melana Brunton and Josephine Bruch at No. 2. Freshman
Tai Mitchell (Elm Grove, Wis.) and junior
Desirae Pugh (Ixonia, Wis.) picked up a 6-2 victory over Madeline Chimenti and Izabella Majsterek at No. 3.
Wisconsin Lutheran also swept through singles play in straight sets. Schmidt swept Brunton 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, Olson ousted Pliner 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2, and Smtih secured a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 3 over Duchemin. Kelley recorded a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Bruch at No. 4, Mitchell earned a 6-0, 6-2 win over Chimenti at No. 5, and Pugh swept Majsterek 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.Â
The Warriors next take on MSOE (4-3, 4-1 NACC) on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Nicolet High School in Glendale.
