WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College wrapped up its 2025 season on Wednesday with a 1-0 loss to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference regular season champion and nationally-recognized Edgewood at Warriors Soccer Field.
The Warriors (3-11-5, 2-6-4 NACC) held the high-powered Eagles (14-1-2, 12-0-0 NACC) to just one goal — the fewest EC has scored in a conference match this season. The lone tally came in the 27th minute when Connor Gage finished off a pass from Gabe Voung for his 10th goal of the year.
Despite being under consistent pressure, WLC's defense held strong behind sophomore goalkeeper
Owen Gault (Moline, Ill.), who collected seven saves in 90 minutes. Wisconsin Lutheran's back line limited Edgewood to minimal scoring opportunities and cleared away multiple dangerous chances in the box.
The Eagles finished with a 27-1 advantage in total shots and an 11-0 margin in corner kicks, while the Warriors' lone shot came from freshman
Caleb Dukic (Franklin, Wis.) in the 73rd minute — a strike that forced a save from EC's Maverick Van Laanen. Gage had five shots for Edgewood, while Cristian Torres-Gale added six attempts, including two on target.
With the result, WLC closed its 2025 campaign with five draws — matching a program record — and continued to show defensive resilience allowing just two goals over its final four contests.
