HOWARDS GROVE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College (2-5, 2-5 NACC) picked up a 5-2 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference victory over Lakeland (0-4, 0-4 NACC) on Sunday at Howards Grove High School.
The Warriors secured the doubles point with wins at the top two positions. Junior
Maddy Olson (Onalaska, Wis.) and sophomore
Joelle Smith (Milwaukee, Wis.) cruised to a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, while freshmen
Addie Prochazka (Sussex, Wis.) and
Sophia Schroeder (Tampa, Fla.) blanked their opponents 6-0 at No. 2.
WLC clinched the match with four singles victories. Smith dominated at No. 2 with a 6-0, 6-0 win, Prochazka followed with a 6-0, 6-4 decision at No. 3, Schroeder rolled 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4, and senior
Lucia Gallardo Martos (Torrejon De Ardoz, Spain) added a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at No. 5.
Wisconsin Lutheran is back in action on Wednesday at 3 p.m. when it travels to River Forest, Illinois, to face Concordia Chicago (0-11, 0-5 NACC) in another NACC matchup.
