WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College dropped a 6-1 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match to Concordia Wisconsin on Friday at Hart Park.
The Warriors (0-3, 0-3 NACC) picked up their lone victory at No. 2 singles, where sophomore
Joelle Smith (Milwaukee, Wis.) defeated the Falcons' Maddie Brashaw 6-3, 6-3.
CUW (1-2, 1-1 NACC) claimed the other five singles matches, including four in straight sets. Junior
Maddy Olson (Onalaska, Wis.) battled closely at the top of the lineup before falling 6-3, 7-5, while freshman
Sophia Schroeder (Tampa, Fla.) took the opening set at No. 5 singles before being edged in a 10-point third set tiebreaker.
Concordia Wisconsin also swept doubles play to secure the opening point, but not before Olson and Smith battled to a 6-4 deficit at the top spot.
Wisconsin Lutheran continues conference play on Tuesday with a 12:30 p.m. match against Lakeland (0-1, 0-1 NACC) at Howards Grove High School.
