FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College earned its first win of the season on Thursday, defeating Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference foe Marian 6-1 at Fond du Lac High School. The victory marked the Warriors' seventh straight win over the Sabres in the all-time series.
After dropping all three doubles matches, WLC responded in a big way by sweeping all six singles courts. At the top of the lineup, junior
Maddy Olson (Onalaska, Wis.) defeated Jillian Traver 6-0, 6-4, while sophomore
Joelle Smith (Milwaukee, Wis.) battled to a 6-3, 7-5 win over Monserrat Luquin at No. 2 singles. Sophomore
Amelia Kelley (Appleton, Wis.) and freshman
Addie Prochazka (Sussex, Wis.) added convincing victories at No. 3 and 4, respectively, as Kelley topped Hazel Duchemin 6-1, 6-1 and Prochazka beat Josephine Bruch 6-2, 6-1.

Sophia Schroeder (Tampa, Fla.) secured a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles against Jennifer Pierga, and senior
Lucia Gallardo Martos (Torrejon De Ardoz, Spain) capped off Wisconsin Lutheran's sweep with a hard-fought 6-7, 6-0, 6-4 comeback victory over Madeline DeVries at No. 6 singles.
The Warriors (1-3, 1-3 NACC) next host MSOE (2-9, 2-3 NACC) on Wednesday, October 1 at 7 p.m. at Hart Park.
