MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College split a pair of non-conference matches at its home triangular on Friday at Time of Grace Center. The Warriors suffered a 3-2 reverse sweep to UW-La Crosse before winning 3-1 over Lake Forest.
WLC, which took the first two sets over UWL, suffered its third five-set setback of the season by scores of 21-25, 15-25, 25-13, 25-14, 16-14. Wisconsin Lutheran hit .113 with 49 kills, 32 errors, and 151 attempts. Senior
Lydia Biggin (Burlington, Wis.) posted a rare triple-double, recording a career-high 17 kills, tying a school-record 10 service aces, while adding 10 digs. Senior
Kayla Wigley (Milwaukee, Wis.) registered a double-double with 12 kills and 16 digs. Freshman
Lauren Charbonneau (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) and sophomore
Hannah Rood (Burnsville, Minn.)Â tallied 20 and 15 assists, respectively. Sophomore
Elexa Varden (Dixon, Ill.) amassed five total blocks.
Kayla Sexton had eight kills and Megan Lund had a double-double of 16 assists and 13 digs for the Eagles (12-6), who hit .115 with 36 kills, 22 errors, and 122 attempts.
The Warriors earned their third win over a Midwest Conference opponent this season by defeating Lake Forest by scores of 25-16, 23-25, 25-18, 25-18. WLC hit .200 with 48 kills, 22 errors, and 130 attempts. Biggin led the way with a match-high 15 kills, while Wigley totaled her sixth double-double of the season with 13 kills and 14 digs. Rood recorded a season-high 21 assists and Charbonneau added 10 helpers. Freshman
Brooke Bartelt (West Bend, Wis.) collected a season-high 14 digs. Biggin and Charbonneau tied a match-high with three service aces.Â
Rio Dirksen had 11 kills, Lilly Robinson had 20 assists, and Meghan Winston had 13 digs for Lake Forest (2-8), which hit -.025 with 28 kills, 31 errors, and 120 attempts.
