WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran was blanked by St. Norbert, 7-0, in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action on Saturday at Hart Park.
The Green Knights (1-0, 1-0 NACC) took control early by sweeping all three doubles matches. The Warriors' No. 1 tandem of junior
Maddy Olson (Onalaska, Wis.) and sophomore
Joelle Smith (Milwaukee, Wis.), along with the pairings of freshmen
Addie Prochazka (Sussex, Wis.) and
Annaliese Bruns (Onalaska, Wis.) and freshman
Lexi Yerges (Beaver Dam, Wis.) and senior
Lucia Gallardo Martos (Torrejon De Ardoz, Spain), each dropped 6-1 decisions.
In singles play, Olson battled at the top of the lineup before falling 6-2, 6-4 to SNC's Jordan Domnick. Prochazka also put up a fight at No. 4 singles, dropping a tight first set 7-5 before falling in straight sets. Smith (No. 2) and Kelley (No. 3) each captured multiple games before coming up short.
WLC (0-2, 0-2 NACC) resumes NACC competition next Friday with a 1 p.m. dual against Concordia Wisconsin (0-1, 0-0 NACC) at Hart Park.
