ATLANTA, Ga. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College was unable to slow down a second-half surge from Emory, falling 6-0 in a non-conference matchup on Sunday at Oglethorpe Soccer Field.
The Warriors (1-3-1) held strong through the opening 45 minutes as sophomore goalkeeper
Aaron Lambert (Green Bay, Wis.) made nine saves to keep the contest scoreless at halftime. The Eagles (4-0-0), however, erupted with five goals in a seven-minute span early in the second half to seize control. Adeyemi Oni opened the scoring in the 54th minute, followed by two goals from Julian Hee and tallies from Ignacio Cubeddu and Nick Carrano. Phillip Head capped the scoring in the 89th minute.
Lambert finished with 11 saves in just under 70 minutes of action before sophomore
Owen Gault (Moline, Ill.) added two more stops in relief. Sophomore
Ethan Kassulke (Racine, Wis.) recorded WLC's lone shot of the afternoon.
Wisconsin Lutheran returns home for its 2025 home opener on Wednesday, September 10, when it hosts Lake Forest (3-0-0) at 7 p.m. at Warriors Soccer Field.
