WATERTOWN, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Sophomore
Ray Dryier (Lockport, Ill.) recorded a career-high 14 kills to lead Wisconsin Lutheran College to a 3-0 non-conference sweep over Maranatha Baptist on Monday at Maranatha Gymnasium.
The Warriors (5-0) secured their third sweep on the young season by scores of 25-19, 25-20, 25-16. WLC, which won its sixth straight match over the Sabercats, hit .239 with 36 kills, 15 errors, and 88 attempts.
Dryier led all players with a career-best 14 kills and a .385 hitting percentage. Sophomore
Carson Rau (Jackson, Wis.) added a career-high seven kills, while freshman
Michael Meloy (Shorewood, Ill.) chipped in six. Rau also finished with a career-best four service aces and 10 digs. Freshmen
David Warren (Brookfield, Wis.) and
Adam Bedalov (Waukesha, Wis.) registered 12 and 11 assists, respectively. Defensively, Meloy finished with five total blocks (two solo, three assisted) and freshman
Ryder Vogt (Manitowoc, Wis.) tallied nine digs.
Aaron Jones had nine kills, Josiah Scott had 15 assists, and Eddie McCarty had nine digs for MBU (0-6), which hit .088 with 22 kills, 15 errors, and 80 attempts.
