Brady Pichler (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) has been named First Team All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, while senior middle hitter
Drew Wempner (West Allis, Wis.) earned NACC Honorable Mention recognition, the league office announced on Thursday.
Pichler started all 21 matches played for the Warriors and turned in a standout sophomore campaign. He led the team in points (350.0), points per set (4.79), kills (282), kills per set (3.86), service aces (37), service aces per set (0.51), digs (139), and digs per set (1.90). Among conference leaders, Pichler paced the NACC in both kills per set and points per set, while ranking second in service aces.
Pichler recorded double-digit kills in 16 matches, highlighted by a career- and program-record 22 kills on March 21 at Benedictine. He also posted a pair of matches with a career-high six service aces and collected a career-best six total blocks on March 31 at Aurora. Pichler added four double-doubles on the season, including a season-high 15 digs on February 14 at Illinois Wesleyan. He is now a two-time First Team All-NACC selection after also earning the honor last season.
Wempner started all 22 matches played and anchored WLC at the net. He led the team in attack percentage (.361), solo blocks (18), total blocks (62.0), and blocks per set (0.82). Wempner recorded a season-high 15 kills on April 7 at Benedictine and posted a career-high nine total blocks on February 28 at Illinois Tech. He repeats as a NACC Honorable Mention selection after also receiving the accolade a year ago.
Wisconsin Lutheran concluded its season with a 12-11 overall record and a 6-6 mark in conference play. The Warriors made their first NACC Tournament appearance in program history while also setting program records for overall and conference victories.
