MEQUON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College dropped a 3-2 and 10-5 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference doubleheader to Concordia Wisconsin on Friday at Kapco Park.
Game 1: Concordia Wisconsin 3, Wisconsin Lutheran 2
The Warriors (10-30, 4-20 NACC) collected seven hits but couldn't capitalize late, as the Falcons (19-19, 15-9 NACC) held them scoreless over the final three innings.
WLC opened the scoring in the second inning. Senior
Lucas Oswald (Muskego, Wis.) singled and later came around to score on a balk, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead.
After CUW tied the game in the fifth, Wisconsin Lutheran regained the lead in the sixth. Sophomore
Jacob Lorbecki (Richfield, Wis.) singled and moved into scoring position before sophomore
Connor Zorn (Huntley, Ill.) delivered an RBI double to right field to make it 2-1.
Concordia Wisconsin responded with three hits and two runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 3-2 advantage, which held as the final score.
Oswald and Lorbecki paced the Warriors at the plate with two hits apiece, while Zorn drove in the team's lone RBI and added a double. Sophomore
Elijah Knutson (Blanchardville, Wis.) also contributed a hit and reached base twice. On the mound, senior
Austin Preiss (South Milwaukee, Wis.) tossed 2.2 scoreless innings in relief.
For the Falcons, Connor Lasch recorded two hits and an RBI. Nick Barksdale earned the win, allowing two runs on six hits over six innings with seven strikeouts. Jack Stuck threw two scoreless innings of relief, and Tyler Bartczak secured the save with a scoreless ninth.
Game 2: Concordia Wisconsin 10, Wisconsin Lutheran 5
WLC was unable to overcome an early deficit, as CUW scored five runs in the second inning to take control of the game.
Wisconsin Lutheran broke through in the fifth inning. Lorbecki reached base and later scored, with junior
Caleb Lott (Peoria, Ill.) driving in the run on a groundout to trim the deficit to 4-1.
The Warriors added two more runs in the sixth. After a hit batter and a walk put runners on, senior
Zach Alburg (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) delivered a two-run double to left field to make it 6-3.
WLC continued to battle in the seventh inning. Junior
Ian Rintelman (Muskego, Wis.) reached and moved into scoring position before junior
Colt Ratliff (Oxford, Ga.) lined a two-run double to left field, cutting the margin to 8-5.
Concordia Wisconsin added insurance runs in the middle and late innings to secure the 10-5 victory.
Ratliff led Wisconsin Lutheran with two hits and two RBIs, while Lorbecki also recorded two hits and scored a run. Alburg drove in two runs and added a double, and Lott contributed an RBI.
For the Falcons, Jack Anzelmo had two hits and an RBI, while Luke Heinkel drove in two runs, and Cameron Bueno and Jason Valdez each scored twice. Easton Oliver earned the win, allowing one unearned run on two hits over five innings with two strikeouts.
The Warriors wrap up their 2026 season 10-30 overall and 4-20 in the NACC.
