WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College won two of three doubles matches and four of six singles matches on Saturday to defeat Marian 5-2 in its home opener at Hart Park.

The Warriors (1-1, 1-1 NACC) earned their first win of the season, while the Sabres fell to 0-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play.

MU took the first doubles match, as Monserrat Luquin and Jillian Traver defeated senior Maddy Olson (Onalaska, Wis.) and freshman Bryce Banick (Wichita, Kan.) 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. WLC responded with wins at the final two doubles positions. Sophomores Addie Prochazka (Sussex, Wis.) and Annaliese Bruns (Onalaska, Wis.) topped Jennifer Pierga and Hannah Bade 6-1 at No. 2 doubles, while junior Tai Mitchell (Elm Grove, Wis.) and freshman Leah Moen (Oshkosh, Wis.) defeated Savannah Clark and Angela Barrass 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.

Marian won the top two singles flights to claim their two points. Luquin defeated Olson 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, and Traver edged Prochazka 7-6, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.

Wisconsin Lutheran secured the match with victories at No. 3 through No. 6 singles. Mitchell beat Bade 6-2, 7-5 at No. 3 singles, and Banick blanked Pierga 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Bruns rallied past Clark 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5 singles, while Moen completed the Warriors' scoring with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Barrass at No. 6 singles.

WLC travels to St. Norbert (1-0, 1-0 NACC) on Tuesday for an 11 a.m. NACC match at Green Bay Tennis Center in De Pere.
