Dr. Dan Johnson has embraced the role that athletics plays going back to his very first days on campus nearly two decades ago. Now, as he embarks on his 19th school year leading WLC, he sits down with
Scott Warras to kick off the second season of "Warriors 1-on-1". He reflects on his time competing as a standout high school athlete at Arizona Lutheran Academy, as well as collegiately at Dr. Martin Luther College, and the leadership lessons learned all those years ago that still inform him today. While addressing the "front porch theory" of college athletics, Johnson explains why he makes it a point to attend as many sporting events as his schedule allows and why connecting with Warriors' student-athletes, families, and fans is vital to carrying out the mission of Wisconsin Lutheran College. Meanwhile, as the winds of change swirl around college athletics, he reveals why a place like WLC can provide a bit of calm for anyone seeking out college athletics in its purest form.
