Chuck Ruffing

Chuck Ruffing is in his first season as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Wisconsin Lutheran College. Ruffing comes to Wisconsin Lutheran after spending four years as an assistant coach at fellow Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference member Rockford University.

During his time at Rockford, Ruffing helped develop three All-NACC performers, two NACC Defensive Player of the Year recipients, one all-region performer, and one CoSIDA Academic All-American. The Regents finished with a program-record 11 NACC wins, along with the first NACC Tournament appearance since 2012-2013 in Ruffing’s final season at Rockford.

Prior to his time with the Regents, Ruffing spent one year as an assistant coach at Franklin College (Ind.) where he coached two HCAC All-Conference selections, including the conference’s leading scorer.

The De Pere native spent his playing career at two NACC schools, Marian University and Concordia University Chicago. While at Marian, Ruffing ranked second on the team in assists and helped the Sabres qualify for the NACC Tournament. He was also a member of the school’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was named to the NACC All-Sportsmanship Team. Ruffing transferred to Concordia Chicago where he spent two seasons playing point guard for the Cougars and was named to the Dean’s List as well as a NACC Scholar-Athlete.

Ruffing earned his bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in sports management from Concordia Chicago in 2015. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching from Rockford.
