Stu Sain is in his first season as an assistant coach for the Wisconsin Lutheran College men’s soccer program.
Sain began his NCAA Division I playing career at the University of Hartford, appearing in seven games for the Hawks. He then transferred to the University of St. Thomas, competing during their inaugural Division I seasons in 2020 and 2021, where he led the team in assists.
As a graduate student, Sain moved to the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, logging over 2,000 Division I minutes by the end of his college career. He also played in USL League Two with the St. Croix Legends, serving as team captain.
Following his playing career, Sain transitioned to coaching as an assistant at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, a top-10 Division III program. He holds a U.S. Soccer “C” coaching license.
A native of Wayzata, Minnesota, Sain earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of St. Thomas and completed a master’s degree in Management and Leadership at UW–Milwaukee.
In high school, Sain starred at Wayzata High School, where he was named an All-American and helped lead the Trojans to a perfect 22-0 season and a State Championship in 2017. The team finished ranked ninth nationally.
