James Biedenbender

James Biedenbender is in his first season as an assistant coach for the Wisconsin Lutheran College men’s volleyball program.

A 2025 graduate of WLC, Biedenbender returns to the Warriors after a standout playing career in the program’s formative years. He was a four-year member of the men’s volleyball team from 2022–2025, serving as a setter and outside hitter under head coach Mike Endsley. During his career, he helped guide Wisconsin Lutheran to the first set win, match win, and conference match win in program history.

Biedenbender was a three-year team captain from his sophomore through senior seasons and became the first player in program history to reach 1,000 career assists. His individual accolades include CSC Academic All-District® honors in 2023 and 2025, as well as four-time NACC Scholar-Athlete recognition from 2022–2025. His personal single-match highs include assists (42), kills (12), digs (18), and blocks (five).

In addition to his collegiate experience, Biedenbender brings coaching experience at both the high school and club levels. Since 2022, he has served as an assistant varsity and summer coach for the girls volleyball program at Luther High School. He is also in his first year coaching a 16s girls team with Wisconsin Attack Volleyball Club out of Jackson.

Off the court, Biedenbender works as a Communications Assistant for the Milwaukee Panthers. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Finance from Wisconsin Lutheran College in spring 2025.

A native of La Crosse, Biedenbender resides in West Allis.
