MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
women's soccer team was defeated by Benedictine University 5-1 in a
Northern Athletics Conference game in its final home game of the
regular season on Tuesday night at Warrior Field.
The Eagles scored their first of three goals in the first half
in the 21st minute. They followed up with goals in the 29th and
38th minute, respectively, to grab a 3-0 lead.
Wisconsin Lutheran got on the board in the 41st minute when
freshman Meta Kolander (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) scored
unassisted for her 13th goal of the season. Benedictine added
another goal before the end of the half to take a 4-1 advantage
into the break.
An early goal by BU in the 50th minute of the second half turned
out to be more than enough as the Eagles went on ran their unbeaten
streak to seven games.
Katie Sloan (Omaha, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) made 10 saves in the
game for WLC, who was out-shot 29-4 in the contest.
Wisconsin Lutheran (2-15-1, 2-9 NAC) will be back in action on
Saturday when it travels to Mequon for a match against NAC foe
Concordia University Wisconsin at 1 p.m.
