Pair of second half goals fuel Falcons past Warriors

MEQUON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's soccer team was defeated 4-2 by the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons in a Northern Athletics Conference clash on Saturday afternoon in Mequon.

The Falcons jumped out to an early 2-0 first half lead with goals from Mike Bruckner and Brian Nord in the 13th and 16th minute, respectively.

The Warriors answered back in the 20th minute when Darren Festerling (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) successfully connected on a penalty kick, cutting the lead to 2-1. Edgar Albarran (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) tied the game in the 41st minute of the first half as he found the back of the net unassisted, sending the game into the half tied at 2.

It took 23 minutes into the second half before the Falcons scored two goals over a seven minute span as Nord and Ryan Folgate connected on goals in the 78th and 85th minute, respectively, to seal the win.

Wisconsin Lutheran was out-shot 18-6 in the contest by the Falcons. Matt Eisold (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) made seven saves in goal for WLC.

Wisconsin Lutheran (8-8-1, 5-3-1 NAC) wraps-up the conference portion of its regular season slate on Tuesday when it hosts Concordia University Chicago at 7 p.m. at Warrior Field.
