Warriors play to 1-1 draw with Beloit

BELOIT, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime tie with the Beloit College Buccaneers in a non-conference game on Monday afternoon.

The Warriors got on the scoreboard in the final minute of the first half when Meta Kolander (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) put the ball in the back of the net off an assist from Megan Mawhinney (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) as WLC took a 1-0 lead into the half.

Beloit tied the game up early in the second half as the Bucs scored a goal in the 51st minute off of a penalty kick.

The game remained scoreless through the end of regulation as well as two 10 minute overtime periods to end in a tie.

WLC, which only attempted six shots in the contest, opposed to 33 attempted by Beloit, was led by Katie Sloan's (Omaha, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) 18 saves.

Wisconsin Lutheran (2-12-1, 2-6 NAC) will move back into Northern Athletics Conference play on Wednesday night when it hosts Concordia University Chicago at 7 p.m.
