Marian hands Warriors seventh straight loss

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team lost its seventh straight game on Saturday after falling to the Marian College Sabres, 3-1, in a Northern Athletics Conference match.

Marian's Kim Kriese scored all three of the Sabres' goals in the first half for a hat trick as they took a 3-0 advantage into intermission.

Meta Kolander (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) was responsible for scoring the Warriors' lone goal of the game in the 49th minute off of an assist from Ashley Poetter (Federal Way, Wash./Evergreen Lutheran). WLC attempted six shots in the game, while Marian got off 24 shots.

Katie Sloan (Omaha, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) made 11 saves in goal for the Warriors.

Wisconsin Lutheran (1-11, 1-5 NAC) looks to get back on the winning track when it goes on the road to face Alverno College on Tuesday in a NAC match beginning at 4 p.m.
