Warriors drop pair of games to Sabres by a combined three runs

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College softball team dropped two close games to the Marian College Sabres on Thursday afternoon at Warrior Field. WLC fell 2-0 in game one, before falling 1-0 in the nightcap.

Senior pitcher Michelle Shambeau (Two Rivers, Wis./Manitowoc Lutheran) posted 10 strikeouts and only allowed five hits and she suffered the loss in game one. The Sabres only allowed four hits in the shutout.

Game two consisted of solid pitching from both the Warriors' Shambeau and the Sabres' hurler Kristin Rose.

Marian recorded the lone run of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning after producing two hits during the frame.

No Warrior had more than one hit in each game. Shambeau recorded four strikeouts while only allowing five hits.

Wisconsin Lutheran (5-9, 3-3 NAC) hosts the MSOE Raiders on Saturday in a Northern Athletics Conference doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. at Warrior Field.
