MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
women's soccer team was blanked by the Beloit College Buccaneers
3-0 on Friday in its first game of the 2008 campaign at Warrior
Field.
Wisconsin Lutheran and Beloit played scoreless soccer for the
first 22 minutes before the Bucs stroked first at the 22:57 mark.
Beloit added a second goal 11 minutes later to take a 2-0 lead into
intermission. The game remained 2-0 until Beloit added its final
goal in the 85th minute.
Kathryn Koepke (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) stopped 14
shots in goal for WLC. Trish Mahnke (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley
Lutheran) attempted two shots, both on goal, to lead the Warriors
attack.
Molly Dickson paced Beloit with nine shot attempts.
Wisconsin Lutheran (0-1) hosts UW-Whitewater, who suffered a 4-1
loss to Luther College earlier Friday, at 4 p.m. on Saturday to
conclude the 2008 Warrior Cup.
